Starting September 1st, the Long Beach Department of Economic Development & Opportunity is piloting a new optional program that lets EDO vendors get paid on approved invoices ahead of the standard payment timeline.
This Early Payment Program is run by Lunch in partnership with EDO.
For program updates and other vendor resources, go to longbeach.gov/edo/partnerships-resources, then Business Resources and Assistance, then Lunch.
Do nothing and nothing changes — you’ll be paid on the City’s normal schedule, same as always.
We reach out via email when you have an approved invoice with EDO. If you select early payment, you receive funds and we are repaid by EDO later.
You choose which approved invoices to accelerate. No commitment, no minimum.
A small flat fee, no interest rates. The fee will be displayed before you decide to use the early payment program for a specific invoice. The fee comes out of the invoice amount.
No. It’s entirely optional and it doesn’t affect your standing with the City either way.
Once an invoice is approved, you can choose to receive payment early instead of waiting out the standard cycle. You decide per invoice.
Starting September 1st, when Long Beach EDO receives an invoice from your company, Lunch will reach out over email to offer you early payment. You can sign up on their site in five minutes – they are required to gather standard business information – and from then on you can access early payment for your invoices.
Account connections are tokenized through Plaid; Lunch doesn’t store your raw banking credentials.
